Allen Parish Reservoir Commission

Meeting June 26, 2006

Oberlin, Wednesday June 26, 2006, the Allen Parish Reservoir Commission adopted it's 2006-07 budget. With only Chairman Phil Beard and 2 members present the rubber stamp meeting was adjourned in less than 5 minutes. Phil Beard asks, "is there any questions"?

It's been 2 years, when will the Commission apply for the Army Corp of Engineers permit?

Chairman Beard says, "It will be another year or 2 years, we are ready, but the Corps will tell us when they are ready, and then it will take another year because they have to look at it."

Oberlin, September 22, 2004, the Commission selected Mill Creek as the site of a proposed 3,700-acre reservoir. Also as part of the selection, commissioners approved to start the application process with the Army Corps of Engineers. (Article: Lake Charles American Press)

(Hello) Louisiana speaks state website says, target start date is 09/01/2006, reservoir needed for water because of salty rains, and Poverty Point Reservoir is generally judged to be a success.
